The Canine Heartworm Antigen Rapid Test is a test cassette to diagnose the presence of Dirofilaria immitis antigens (CHW Ag) in dog’s blood specimen.

Introduction

The heartworm in dog is a parasitic roundworm called Dirofilaria immitis. It is mainly spread through the bites of mosquitoes. The definitive host is dog, but it also infect cats, wolves, foxes, ferrets and other animals. Many dogs show little or no sign even after the worms become adults. Heavier infections may show classic signs such as cough, severe weight loss, fainting and finally congestive heart failure. X-rays are used to evaluate the severity of the heartworm infection, while antigen testing and microfilarial detection are widely used normal detection. J&G CHW Ag Test Kit is a lateral flow immunoassay for the detection of antigen in the blood specimen.
